Celebrating the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer

The Ministry of Environment is participating with the countries of the world in celebrating the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Montreal Protocol, which took place on September 16, 1987, and the Ozone Unit is organizing a celebration at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Maadi - Cairo on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, to participate in this environmental event, which is held under the slogan: Global Cooperation to Protect Life on Earth. The celebration includes holding the third meeting of the Permanent National Ozone Committee, organizing a press conference for various media outlets, and presenting the message of Dr. Inger Andersen, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Program, followed by a speech by Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, on this occasion, which she delivered on behalf of His Excellency Dr. Ali Abu Senna, CEO of the Environmental Affairs Agency. The celebration includes some different activities such as honoring former pioneers and distinguished experts. The celebration includes a short video presentation on the achievements of the Egyptian Program for the Protection of the Ozone Layer over 35 years, a lecture on ozone and climate change, and a brief review of the most important achievements of the Ozone Unit during 2022.
